Living room convertible sofa

Not long ago we talked about the day-bed, a solution somewhere between a bed and a sofa that is perfect for the bedroom of a little girl but also a living room where you need to add some seating. Today the argument is similar. We speak of these couches as “convertible” because they have the potential to become real beds, but the furnishings are very elegant. The fact that this is a sofa bed does not exclude the possibility of having other options, such as the reclining back cushions, or the sliding seats and buckle. In some models it is also possible to combine individual sessions, one traditional and one with the bed.

How much space does a sofa bed? Obviously there is a relationship between the measures of the couch and those contained within the mattress, but generally the companies have standard generalized especially with regard to the width of the networks. The length is normally instead of 190 cm. Models with twin beds are about 80-90 cm wide, a square and a half up to the classic double 120cm which are typically between 140 and 160 cm wide. These dimensions should be added to the structure of the couch that usually leads to an increase of about 30 cm in width.

With models that have the arms of a smaller size may save space in width, to a mattress and a plan for wider seat. Two examples: the Ways of Delta Salotti sofa, upholstered in fabric, which in a few gestures turns into bed, and the Ikea Karlstad sofa, three seat that becomes a bed or a double thanks to the removable slats which is located under the seat. An internal compartment contains the cushions and upholstery.

In some models the seat and floor of the back plate is unique and is transformed into the mattress in the bed configuration. It is usually associated with the folding mechanism.
